A threat actor has claimed to possess a database allegedly linked to the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The post alleges that the leaked data includes personal details such as names, gender, occupations, and phone numbers of approximately 300,000 individuals.
According to the forum post, the dataset is supposedly formatted as HTML and can be converted into CSV for buyers. The sample records shared include personal information about several individuals, primarily farmers.
The threat actor has advertised the database for sale via Telegram, explicitly stating that transactions will only proceed with an escrow service to ensure security. The post also hints at the availability of more recent and “private” data for interested buyers.
