Amazon’s Spanish operations, Amazon España, has allegedly suffered a significant data breach, with an estimated 5.1 million customer records reportedly exposed online. The leaked information is said to include sensitive personal details such as DNI (Spanish National Identity Document) numbers, phone numbers, street addresses, zip codes, full names, email addresses, and cities of residence.

The alleged breach impacts a substantial number of Amazon’s customer base in Spain, a crucial market for the global e-commerce giant. Amazon.es is a primary online retail platform for millions of Spanish consumers, handling vast amounts of personal and financial data daily. The exposure of such detailed information could lead to serious privacy concerns and potential risks of phishing attacks, identity theft, and other malicious activities for the affected individuals.

The origin of the alleged data leak appears to be a public online forum, where the information was reportedly shared. The breach is attributed to “Amazon España,” indicating a direct compromise of the company’s Spanish database. The timeline for the data breach is stated as “2024/2025,” suggesting a recent or ongoing compromise.

Customers in Spain who use Amazon.es are advised to be vigilant about any suspicious communications, particularly emails or messages requesting personal information, and to consider changing their passwords for online accounts.
