The pro-Palestinian hacktivist group “Handala” has claimed responsibility for a significant cyberattack against Delek Group, one of Israel’s largest conglomerates in the energy and fuel supply sector. The group, which has been active since late 2023 and is known for targeting Israeli entities, announced the breach on its data leak site.
In a politically charged statement, Handala alleged it had gained full control over the company’s accounting systems and internal databases, leading to disruptions at fuel stations. The attack is one of many high-profile cyber operations the group has claimed against Israeli infrastructure, often employing tactics ranging from data theft to wiper malware.
According to Handala, the breach has resulted in the exfiltration of a massive amount of sensitive information, including the personal data of 650,000 customers. The allegedly stolen data includes:
- Full names
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Unique customer identity credentials
- Confidential military contracts
- Internal transaction records
