HelloKitty Ransomware Rebrands as HelloGookie, Releases Decryption Keys

In a surprising turn of events, HelloKitty Ransomware has undergone a significant transformation, rebranding itself as HelloGookie and simultaneously releasing decryption keys. The ransomware’s creator, known as Gookie, has taken the reins of this evolution, introducing a new blog to accompany the rebranding.

In a statement attributed to HelloGookie, also known as Gookie or Gookee, he extends regards to LockBit, a potential competitor, suggesting a sense of camaraderie or acknowledgment within the ransomware community.

Additionally, amidst this rebranding effort, Gookie has managed to reclaim access to his previously lost account on the Exploit forum, further solidifying his presence and influence within the cyber landscape.
