A threat actor is claiming to have breached the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), a prominent cross-national collaboration of academic organizations, universities, and survey agencies that conducts annual surveys on diverse topics in the social sciences.
The actor is offering a large database for sale, allegedly exfiltrated on June 27, 2025. The database purportedly contains 7,296,176 records of survey participants. According to the post, the data is broken down by country, including:
- USA: 4,388,000 records
- UK: 2,414,000 records
- AU: 445,000 records
The threat actor is asking for $2,000 for the database and claims it will be sold to a single person.
According to the actor, the compromised data includes a wide range of personally identifiable information (PII) belonging to survey respondents. The database fields listed in the sale offer include:
- Phone numbers
- First names
- Last names
- Physical addresses (including street, city, state, province, and postal code)
- Email addresses
