A threat actor has allegedly put a sensitive database belonging to Hotel Casa Dorita, located in Italy, up for sale on a dark web forum. The hotel, a destination for tourists, handles a significant amount of personally identifiable information (PII) from its international clientele as part of its booking and check-in processes. According to the forum post made on August 6, 2025, the data was exfiltrated through an unauthorized access incident that allegedly occurred in June 2025. This breach places the personal security of potentially thousands of former guests at high risk.
The seller claims the database contains a significant collection of sensitive documents and is being offered for $800. The post specifies that the data dump includes thousands of high-resolution scans and photos of guest identity documents. Sample images accompanying the listing display a wide variety of personal IDs, including international passports and national identity cards from numerous countries, exposing full names, dates of birth, photographs, and document numbers. The availability of such comprehensive identification documents on the dark web could lead to severe consequences for the individuals affected, including identity theft and financial fraud.
The allegedly leaked data includes:
- 2,300 high-quality scans and photos of guest identity documents (Passports, National IDs)
