A hacktivist group has allegedly breached the systems of two major Israeli employment and staffing companies, JobPlace Ltd and QHR Ltd. The group, calling itself Handala, claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating they have exfiltrated massive amounts of sensitive data. JobPlace is described as one of the largest employment and staffing companies in Israel, working with sensitive governmental and security institutions, while QHR is another significant recruitment firm in the region. The attackers have framed the operation as a politically motivated act.
The group behind the attack claims to have compromised all internal systems of JobPlace, allegedly making off with over 621 GB of data. They further assert that they have acquired 403 GB of data from QHR Ltd. According to the hacktivist group’s statement, the breach was comprehensive, and the stolen information has been transferred to other intelligence services aligned with their cause. The attackers declared they are not seeking a ransom and that this is part of a larger campaign.
The data allegedly stolen from JobPlace is said to be extensive and includes a wide range of sensitive information. The compromised files reportedly contain:
- Employee details
- Client information
- Recruitment documents
- Internal communications
- Infrastructure configurations
- Personal and classified data of hundreds of thousands of individuals
