A threat actor has allegedly leaked the student database of the Montalvo Institute’s San Miguel campus on a hacking forum. Montalvo Institute is a prominent educational institution in Peru, widely recognized for its professional training programs in the beauty industry, including hairstyling, cosmetology, makeup, and other related fields. The institute, founded by Victor Hugo Montalvo Blas in Lima, is a key player in the nation’s beauty education sector, making this alleged breach a significant concern for its student body.
The compromised data was made available for download and reportedly contains a vast amount of sensitive personal information belonging to the students. The exposure of this information could place affected individuals at risk of various cyberattacks, including targeted phishing campaigns, identity theft, and other fraudulent activities. The threat actor posted a sample of the data to prove the authenticity of the leak.
