A threat actor on a cybercrime forum has allegedly put network access to HMM, a major South Korean shipping and logistics company, up for sale. The post claims to offer VPN access to the internal network of the maritime transportation firm for a price of $50,000. The seller provided samples within the forum post to demonstrate the legitimacy of their claim.
HMM is a significant global player in the freight and logistics industry, with a reported revenue of over $7 billion and more than 4,000 employees. The company is crucial to international supply chains, specializing in marine shipping and transportation. A breach of this magnitude could have severe consequences, potentially leading to data theft, espionage, or the deployment of ransomware, which could disrupt their extensive operations and impact global trade.
