Qilin Ransomware Allegedly Targets 11 International Organizations

Qilin ransomware group has allegedly targeted two organizations: Joseantonio Rodriguez, a long-standing Spanish consulting firm, and Specialty Components, a US-based manufacturer of precision air bearings. Joseantonio Rodriguez, with over 40 years of experience, offers a wide array of services including tax, accounting, labor, legal consulting, insurance brokerage, and real estate agency services across multiple offices in Spain. Specialty Components, established for over 30 years, is a crucial player in semiconductor manufacturing, providing highly specialized components and metal optics. The alleged attacks highlight the persistent threat posed by ransomware groups to diverse industries globally.

The full extent of the compromised data is still being assessed, but the attackers allegedly claim to have exfiltrated sensitive information from both entities. The incident underscores the critical need for robust cybersecurity measures across all sectors, regardless of geographical location or industry focus, as even well-established and specialized companies can become targets for sophisticated cyber threats.
