Telegram’s Policy Changes Continue to Drive Criminal Groups Off the Platform

Telegram’s recent security and privacy updates are prompting more cybercriminal groups to leave the platform. Following the crackdown on illegal activity and the platform’s increased cooperation with law enforcement, several notorious groups have announced their departure.

LulzSec Muslims Abandon Telegram

One such group, LulzSec Muslims, recently shared their decision to leave Telegram, citing concerns over the platform’s new direction. In a statement, the group pointed out that Telegram is now “under Western governments” and that the platform’s founder, Pavel Durov, has expressed readiness to cooperate with law enforcement by sharing user data. They indicated that Telegram is no longer a safe space for their operations, and they plan to move their activities to the dark web.

RCH-SEC Shifts Focus After Telegram Exit

Another notable exit comes from RCH-SEC, a member of the Black Hat community. In a public announcement, RCH-SEC revealed they are stepping away from Telegram due to its recent policy changes. However, rather than retreating entirely, they are pivoting to ethical hacking by collaborating with the Predator Linux OS community. RCH-SEC will be developing new tools and updates for Predator OS, with plans to offer free tutorials and advanced courses focused on ethical hacking.
