A major telecommunications provider, Vodafone Egypt, is allegedly the latest victim of a massive data breach. A threat actor has posted a database containing the personal information of what they claim to be 39 million customers for sale on a clandestine hacking forum. The seller posted the data on June 1, 2025, offering a vast trove of sensitive user information.
Vodafone Egypt is one of the country’s leading mobile network operators, a subsidiary of the global telecommunications giant Vodafone Group. The compromise of its user data on this scale could have severe consequences. The exposed information allegedly includes a wide range of personally identifiable information (PII), which could be exploited by malicious actors for phishing campaigns, identity theft, and other fraudulent activities.
The leaked data allegedly includes:
- Full Name
- Telephone Number
- Date of Birth
