Akira Ransomware Group Claims Breach on US Food Distributor E&S Food and Canadian Homebuilder Fusion Homes

The Akira ransomware group has allegedly added two new North American companies to its data leak site, posting the claims on September 9, 2025. The group asserts it has successfully breached E&S Food, a food distributor from the United States, and Fusion Homes, a home construction company based in Canada. The threat actors are threatening to publish a substantial amount of sensitive data allegedly exfiltrated from both organizations if their demands are not met.

The victims listed on the group’s leak blog are:

  • 🇺🇸 E&S Food, Inc.: A US-based distributor headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1980, the company offers over 3,000 products and employs more than 50 people. The attackers claim to have stolen 190GB of data.
  • 🇨🇦 Fusion Homes: A Canadian homebuilder from Guelph, Ontario, that guides customers through the home-buying process. The ransomware group alleges it is preparing to leak 15GB of its corporate data.

According to the post, the data stolen from E&S Food allegedly includes a vast trove of financial and accounting records, credit card details, employees’ personal information, and confidential client data, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs). For Fusion Homes, the compromised files allegedly contain financial data, detailed employee information such as dates of birth and contact details, client information, and internal project information.
