A threat actor has allegedly leaked sensitive voter data from India on a dark web forum, claiming to possess millions of records from electoral rolls. The post includes sample files and details about the alleged breach, with the actor offering the data for sale.
According to the claims, the dataset contains personally identifiable information such as names, surnames, relationship details (father/husband), full relation names, ages, genders, and Electors Photo Identification Card (EPIC) numbers—an essential component of India’s voter identification system. The data is reportedly categorized under two regions:
- Mumbra Kalwa – Alleged 468,354 records
- Karmala Town – Alleged 324,037 records
The post includes sample data files and a price tag of $300, with the seller directing potential buyers to contact them via the privacy-focused messaging platform, Session.
