A post allegedly published on a dark web forum has claimed that unauthorized access to an email account linked to Georgia’s National Agency of Public Registry is up for sale. The alleged listing suggests that the compromised email account may have access to the Meta Law Enforcement Portal, which is used to submit official data requests to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The anonymous seller allegedly detailed several potential exploits that could be carried out using the compromised government email. These range from submitting emergency data requests to online platforms, conducting phishing campaigns, and even obtaining sensitive hospital records. According to the post, the email could also be used to freeze cryptocurrency wallets and shut down online marketplaces by reporting alleged illegal activities.
Additionally, the post claims that access to the account could facilitate social engineering attacks against cybersecurity and intelligence services. The threat actor allegedly set the selling price for this access at $149 USD.
