A database allegedly containing the personal and professional details of 245 Angolan government employees has been leaked on a dark web forum. A threat actor posted the data, claiming it was a “fresh” and “private” dump sourced directly from the government portal pape.gov.ao. The leak exposes sensitive information, putting the affected employees at risk of various cyber threats.
The targeted entity, PAPE (Plano de Ação para a Promoção da Empregabilidade), is an Action Plan for the Promotion of Employability, a significant program of the Government of Angola. Managed by the Ministry of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security (MAPTSS), PAPE aims to foster entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment, particularly among the youth. The breach of this portal could undermine trust in the government’s digital infrastructure and ability to protect employee data.
The compromised information allegedly contains a range of personally identifiable information. According to the forum post, the leak includes the following data fields for each employee:
- Employee ID
- Agent Number
- Full Name
- Date of Birth
- Department/Area
- Job Title/Function
This detailed information could allegedly be exploited by malicious actors for sophisticated phishing campaigns, identity theft, and other fraudulent activities targeting government personnel.
