The hacking group known as Anonymous Sudan has purportedly launched cyberattacks targeting two major telecommunications companies in Bahrain, namely Zain and Batelco. Zain is a prominent telecommunications operator in Bahrain, providing a wide range of services including mobile, broadband, and enterprise solutions. Batelco, another leading telecommunications provider in the region, offers comprehensive communication services to both residential and business customers.
In a statement released online, the group attributed its actions to Bahrain’s perceived support for Israel and its involvement in the Western naval coalition’s operations against Yemen. These attacks signal a potential escalation in cyber warfare tactics, with geopolitical tensions driving cyber threats against critical infrastructure and businesses.
