A threat actor has allegedly leaked a significant database belonging to MK Brokers, a prominent investment firm based in Bulgaria. MK Brokers AD is a key player in the financial sector, licensed by the Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) and authorized to operate throughout all member states of the European Union under the MiFID II directive. This regulatory standing underscores the sensitivity of the financial and personal data the company handles for its clients.
The alleged breach was announced on a dark web forum, where the cybercriminal advertised the stolen data. According to the post, the compromised information is contained within a 7 GB archive, encompassing nearly 150,000 individual files. The full scope and nature of the leaked files have not been confirmed, but the incident poses a potential risk to the firm and its clients across the EU.
