CyberDragon, a notorious hacking group, has reportedly escalated its cyber offensive against Eurocontrol, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation. The group, allegedly, initially launched a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack and has since followed up with a second attack, vowing to continue targeting the organization.
In their statement, CyberDragon announced a strategic shift towards European aviation, specifically targeting EUROCONTROL’s E-learning platform. EUROCONTROL, founded in 1960, is integral to developing a pan-European air traffic management system aimed at ensuring seamless air navigation across the continent.
The group didn’t stop there; they also allegedly attacked the EUROCONTROL toolbar, further demonstrating their commitment to disrupting the organization’s operations. CyberDragon’s ongoing campaign highlights the critical vulnerabilities in the aviation sector’s cybersecurity defenses.
