The D4rk4rmy ransomware group has allegedly added two prominent hospitality sector entities to its list of victims. In a post dated August 3, 2025, the threat actor claimed to have successfully breached the networks of Monaco’s world-famous Casino de Monte-Carlo and California’s Big Rock Resort. The group’s claims suggest a significant data theft from both establishments, targeting sensitive customer and corporate information.
The alleged victims are major players in their respective luxury and leisure markets, making them high-value targets for cybercriminals. The attack highlights the increasing focus of ransomware gangs on the hospitality industry, which holds vast amounts of personal and financial data. The targeted organizations allegedly include:
- Casino de Monte-Carlo (Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer): A prestigious hospitality group founded in 1863, renowned for shaping Monaco’s identity as a global symbol of luxury. The group operates iconic properties including the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the Casino de Monte-Carlo, and hosts exclusive events like the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
- Big Rock Resort: A lakefront cabin resort located in June Lake, California. It specializes in accommodations for individuals, families, weddings, and corporate retreats, offering a private and exclusive experience for its guests.
According to the threat actor’s post, a substantial amount of sensitive data was exfiltrated from both victims. For the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the allegedly stolen data includes:
- Customer logs
- Hotel registration details
- Financial transactions
- VIP client information
- Employee data and IDs
- Passport details
- Damage reports
For Big Rock Resort, the group claims to have obtained:
- VIP reservation client information
- Banking information
