Handala Team has announced that it has successfully hacked SolidCAM, a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for manufacturing applications. According to the group, they have gained access to over 800GB of the company’s data.
SolidCAM is known for its on-premise computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, which integrates with other CAD and CAM interfaces to streamline milling and turning operations. The software, originally released by Emil Somekh, is widely used in various sensitive industries, including the air force, aircraft industries, Soreq, and drone production industries. The company reportedly generates more than $200 million in revenue annually.
In their statement, Handala Team emphasized the strategic importance of SolidCAM in numerous sensitive industries and claimed to have infiltrated the company’s network for months, using it as a conduit for their backdoor spreading tool. The group hinted at a connection between their activities and recent accidents and explosions, suggesting that their breach could have broader implications.
