The Lynx ransomware group has allegedly added Rose Acre Farms, a prominent American egg producer, to its list of victims. The cybercriminal gang claimed responsibility for the attack on its data leak site, marking another significant incident targeting the food supply chain. Rose Acre Farms, established in 1939 and headquartered in Seymour, Indiana, is a major supplier of eggs to markets and grocery outlets across the United States. The attack underscores the vulnerability of critical infrastructure and agricultural sectors to cyber threats.
According to the post on the threat actor’s leak site, the group claims to have encrypted the company’s data and possesses proof of the breach. The publication, dated September 7, 2025, targets the agricultural giant, which has a reported income of nearly $700 million. While the attackers have not detailed the specific types of data compromised, the “Encrypted, Proof” category suggests a typical double-extortion ransomware attack. Rose Acre Farms has not yet publicly commented on the alleged security incident.
