Major Israeli Energy Companies Delkol and Delek Allegedly Breached by Handala Hacker Group

A hacker group calling itself “Handala” has allegedly breached the systems of two major players in Israel’s energy sector, Delkol and Delek Group. The group claims to have exfiltrated a massive trove of sensitive data, raising concerns about the security of the nation’s critical infrastructure. The alleged attack, which was announced on June 15, 2025, purportedly targeted what the hackers referred to as “Israel’s fuel supply system,” threatening to expose confidential information and disrupt fuel availability.

Delkol is a veteran Israeli company specializing in the manufacturing of lubricants and oils for a wide range of vehicular and industrial applications, making it a key supplier for the country’s transportation and industrial sectors. Delek Group is a dominant force in the Israeli energy market, with its subsidiary, Delek Israel, operating one of the largest chains of fuel stations in the country. The conglomerate also has extensive interests in oil and gas exploration and production, positioning it as a cornerstone of Israel’s energy independence. The alleged breach of these two entities could therefore have significant ramifications for the Israeli economy and its security.

The “Handala” hack team, a group with pro-Palestinian affiliations known for its cyberattacks against Israeli targets, claimed responsibility for the intrusion. In their announcement, the hackers alleged the theft of over two terabytes of data, including 300,000 classified documents. They warned of the vulnerability of Israel’s fuel stations and hinted at extensive collaboration between the Delek Group and the Israeli military. The group has threatened to leak the stolen data, which allegedly includes:

  • Classified documents
  • Detailed fuel supply contracts with the Israeli military
  • Access to updated internal databases

This incident follows a pattern of cyberattacks by “Handala” against various Israeli organizations. While the full extent and validity of the claims are yet to be officially confirmed, the alleged breach of two such prominent companies in the energy sector has drawn significant attention.
