A threat actor group, UserSec, recently announced the creation of a new division called the UserSec Control Department (USCD). According to posts published on their Telegram channel, this new department claims to focus on combating internal issues within Russia, specifically targeting drug-related activities and pedophilia.
The USCD has been organized into two specialized units: the Anti-Drugs Department and the Anti-Pedophile Department. The group states that each unit will be staffed with specialists who will handle reports from individuals providing information on these illicit activities. They have shared contact details for two bots through which individuals can submit relevant information. To file a report, users are expected to provide a detailed description of the situation and evidence supporting their claims.
According to UserSec, once a report is submitted, their teams will investigate the information. Verified reports will be passed on for further action, and those who submit approved reports may be rewarded with discounts on UserSec’s merchandise or courses. The group emphasizes that this initiative is not profit-driven but ideologically motivated to address problems within Russia.
While launching this internal project, the group also reported the continuation of cyberattacks against Estonia. The group, in collaboration with NoName057(16) and the People’s Cyber Army, claims to be targeting Estonia’s critical infrastructure.
These actions come amid a broader campaign of politically motivated cyberattacks across Europe, with UserSec openly supporting Russian nationalist sentiments and publicly promoting their activities with hashtags such as #GloryToRussia and #FuckEstonia.
