In a dark web forum post, a threat actor alleging a data breach of PopinBorder, a total management solution for shopping malls in Korea. The platform, which helps international businesses in entering the Korean market without the need for a local branch or Korean staff, reportedly experienced a security compromise in September 2024.
The threat actor claims to have accessed two databases, each containing data from major Korean e-commerce platforms such as Auction.co.kr and Gmarket.co.kr. The data purportedly includes over 150,000 rows of sensitive information.
The seller is asking for $3,000 in cryptocurrency for the stolen data, with the price negotiable for serious buyers. They also assured potential customers that an escrow service could be used to secure the transaction.
The post invites interested parties to reach out via Telegram or through private messages on the forum.
