The Qilin ransomware group has allegedly claimed responsibility for a cyberattack targeting three distinct companies from the United States and Germany, posting their names on its dark web leak site. The victims span diverse industries, from mannequin manufacturing and HVAC services to specialized industrial equipment production. The group is threatening to release sensitive data that could significantly impact the operations, intellectual property, and client security of the affected organizations.
The companies targeted in this multi-pronged attack include:
- 🇺🇸 Greneker: A US-based company that designs and manufactures mannequins for major global brands, including Disney and Under Armour.
- 🇺🇸 Gillette Air Conditioning Company: An American firm specializing in commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- 🇩🇪 Spohn + Burkhardt GmbH & Co KG: A German manufacturer of custom industrial control systems, joysticks, and resistors for heavy machinery.
According to the group’s claims, the leaked data is extensive and damaging for each company. The data allegedly exfiltrated from Gillette Air Conditioning includes sensitive building plans for its clients, contracts, financial documents, and employee personal information. For the German manufacturer Spohn + Burkhardt, the breach purportedly involves the company’s entire archive of proprietary designs, schematics, and drawings, which could allow competitors to replicate its patented technology. The data leak from Greneker allegedly exposes documents detailing product quality issues and poor working conditions at its overseas manufacturing facilities.
