Risen Energy Co. Allegedly Targeted by World Leaks Ransomware Group

The World Leaks ransomware group has allegedly claimed another victim, this time the Chinese solar panel manufacturer, Risen Energy Co. The company, a major player in the global renewable energy market with a reported revenue of $4.9 billion, is now listed on the ransomware group’s data leak site. Risen Energy, founded in 1986, is a prominent manufacturer of solar modules and has a significant international presence.

The ransomware group claims to have exfiltrated a wide range of sensitive data from the company’s network. The allegedly stolen data includes confidential documents that could be damaging to the company and its employees. The group has posted a list of the data they claim to possess, which includes:

  • Contracts and business agreements
  • Technical research contracts and blueprints
