The BianLian Ransomware Group Has Announced Two New Victims: Mountjoy and Northern Minerals Limited

In a cybersecurity breach, the BianLian ransomware group has announced that they have compromised the systems of two prominent companies: Mountjoy and Northern Minerals Limited. The group claims to have exfiltrated sensitive data from both organizations and is threatening to publish the information.

Mountjoy Breach Details

Mountjoy, a leading provider of building and maintenance support services across southern England, has reportedly fallen victim to a data breach. The company, which boasts a revenue of $71.8 million, is now facing a severe threat to its data security. The alleged stolen data includes:

  • Employees’ Personal Data
  • Contract Data
  • Client and Supplier Information
  • Plans of Municipal Buildings and Construction Information
  • Accounting and Business Data
  • Strategical Plans, Board Meeting Records, and Client Leads

BianLian has indicated that this data will be uploaded soon and has provided contact information for parties interested in obtaining or protecting the data.

Northern Minerals Limited Breach Details

Northern Minerals Limited, an Australian company focused on the development of rare earth elements, is also reportedly a victim of the BianLian ransomware group. The breach is said to encompass a vast array of sensitive information, including:

  • Operational Data
  • Strategical Data: Potential projects, geological and mining research in various countries, data on research of competitors
  • R&D Data
  • Financial Data
  • Employees’ Personal Data
  • Corporate Email Archives: Including emails of key executives Nick Curtis and Shane Hartwig
  • Data on Shareholders and Potential Investors

The group has detailed the extensive nature of the data files, including multiple compressed files of HR data and operational documents.
