Threat Actor Allegedly Selling Access to National SS7 Signaling System for $1 Million

Threat Actor Allegedly Selling Access to National SS7 Signaling System for $1 Million

In a startling claim, a threat actor has posted on a forum, asserting that they are selling access rights to the SS7 signaling system of a national telecommunications company. The SS7 (Signaling System No. 7) network is crucial for handling telecommunications signaling, including SMS and call routing.

The post details that the internal network contains gateway devices such as PSTN, which could be exploited to monitor, hijack, and tamper with SMS and calls. The seller emphasizes the potential for significant intelligence-gathering and the high value of this access.

The threat actor indicates that they will only provide shells to access the internal network and some internal network domain hashes. Technical support will only be offered for a satisfactory price, and the access is specifically targeted at individuals familiar with SS7 signaling equipment or those needing specific intelligence.

The asking price for this access is set at $1 million. The seller warns that if potential buyers cannot meet this price, they should refrain from contacting to save time. This claim, if true, underscores the critical importance of securing telecommunications infrastructure against unauthorized access and exploitation.
