The Warlock ransomware group has allegedly targeted Infoniqa, a prominent Austrian company specializing in human resources software and services. The cybercriminal group has claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that they have exfiltrated 165GB of sensitive data from the company’s systems. A countdown on the group’s leak site suggests a deadline of just over three days before the data is publicly released.
Infoniqa, founded in 1988 with its headquarters in Wels, Austria, is a significant player in the HR technology sector across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). The company provides a wide range of solutions, including payroll, personnel management, and time recording, to thousands of customers. The alleged breach could have significant implications for the numerous businesses that rely on Infoniqa’s services for their critical HR and payroll operations.
The Warlock group has listed the types of data they have allegedly stolen, which appears to be extensive and highly sensitive. The compromised information reportedly includes:
- Internal documents
- Financial documents
- Employee information
- CRM database
- HR database
- SaaS database
The publication of such data could lead to severe consequences, including financial fraud, identity theft, and significant reputational damage for Infoniqa and its clients. The company has not yet publicly commented on the alleged security incident.
