Reportedly, a breach has occurred in the Facebook Marketplace Database.
According to claims made by the threat actor known as algoatson, a breach has been executed on a contractor responsible for managing cloud services for Facebook. As a result of this breach, a database comprising 200,000 records has been compromised. The leaked data allegedly includes comprehensive information such as full names, email addresses, Facebook IDs, phone numbers, physical IDs, and Facebook profile settings.
With access to the leaked Facebook Marketplace database, a threat actor could engage in various malicious activities. They could potentially exploit the personal information for identity theft, phishing attacks, spamming, social engineering scams, and targeted advertising. Additionally, the stolen data could be sold on the dark web or used for further cybercrime endeavors, posing significant risks to the affected individuals’ privacy and security.
