In a recent cyber incident, the French grocery company Albert Ménès has allegedly fallen victim to a data breach, affecting over 21,000 of its customers. The breach was disclosed on a dark web forum by a threat actor using the alias “@grep.”
Albert Ménès, a brand established in 1921, is celebrated for its wide variety of gourmet products, including jams, dried herbs, and spice mixes.
The breach, which reportedly occurred in September 2024, has exposed sensitive customer information. According to the data leak, the compromised records include personal details such as customer IDs, names, emails, and more critical data points like passwords, birthdates, registration IP addresses, and secure keys. The leaked database also includes business-related identifiers like SIRET numbers, typically used for company identification in France.
