Russian Hacker Groups Claim Responsibility for Coordinated Cyber Attacks on Moldova

Moldova faces a grave cybersecurity threat as Russian hacker groups launch coordinated attacks, targeting critical government institutions and services. ZulikGroup, in collaboration with NoName057(16), claims to have breached several key resources in Moldova, including the Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Finance, Defense Department, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Culture.

The attacks extend beyond data breaches, with NoName057(16) announcing ongoing distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on state websites, highlighting the dangers of what they perceive as Russophobia. Among the targeted sites are the Multimedia portal of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Portal of public services, Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Official page, Government, and President’s websites.

Additionally, CyberDragon has joined the assault, targeting Electronic Services, Tax Office, Energocom, Supreme Council of Master’s Degrees, National Energy Regulatory Agency, and the Parliament of Moldova. The attacks pose a significant threat to Moldova’s digital infrastructure and underline the escalating tensions in the region.
