A threat actor has recently surfaced, claiming to possess a trove of emails originating from UNAM IIMAS (Instituto de Investigaciones en Matemáticas Aplicadas y en Sistemas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). According to the threat actor, the emails, totaling over 900 GB and stored in .msg format, were allegedly sourced from the UNAM IIMAS Server, comprising a staggering collection of more than 2 million email records. This substantial dataset is being offered for sale at the price of $500, raising concerns about potential breaches of privacy and security within the academic institution’s communications network.
