A threat actor has purportedly emerged claiming to sell the data of Chunghwa Telecom, a prominent telecommunications company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and founded in 1996. Renowned for its comprehensive range of domestic and international telecommunication services, Chunghwa Telecom offers fixed communication, internet services, mobile communication, and various other solutions.
The threat actor alleges possession of a substantial 1.7TB dataset, which purportedly includes a diverse array of sensitive information. This encompasses internal documents, a vast collection of databases exceeding 7,000 entries, contracts involving the company and the Taiwanese government, and potentially more undisclosed data. The purported leak raises significant concerns regarding the potential exposure of confidential corporate and governmental information, necessitating immediate attention from Chunghwa Telecom and relevant authorities to mitigate potential risks and safeguard sensitive data.
