A threat actor has purportedly advertised the sale of a database belonging to Toner-dumping.de, a prominent German online shopping platform specializing in printer toners and related accessories. The actor alleges to possess around 344,000 customer records extracted from the site’s database. These records reportedly contain sensitive information such as customers’ full names, email addresses, hashed passwords, phone numbers, and potentially additional details.
With this information at their disposal, cybercriminals could engage in a range of malicious activities. These may include identity theft, where personal information is exploited for fraudulent purposes, phishing attacks targeting unsuspecting customers, attempts to hijack user accounts on various platforms, fraudulent transactions, and even the sale of stolen data on illicit online marketplaces. Such breaches not only jeopardize the affected individuals’ privacy and financial security but also undermine trust in the integrity of online businesses and services.
