The Tamil-language news website PTS News has allegedly fallen victim to a data breach. According to claims posted on a dark web forum by a threat actor, nearly 3.8 million lines of data, amounting to approximately 2.37 GB of information, were purportedly stolen from the news outlet’s databases.
The alleged breach, if confirmed, could potentially impact PTS News’ extensive readership base that relies on the platform for coverage spanning politics, sports, technology, cinema, and spiritual content. The threat actor claims the compromised data has been compressed into a 7z file format.
